Helen Hulsey Jennings

Celebration of life services for Mrs. Helen Hulsey Jennings, 91, of Piedmont will be at Thompson Funeral Home, Piedmont, Alabama on March 24, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Minister Jillian Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Jennings ascended to Heaven on March 21, 2023. The family will receive friends two hours prior to her service. Mrs. Jennings attended Piedmont Church of God. Left to cherish her memories include her children: Ken Jennings (Maria), Deborah Jennings Clausen (Jim), Floyd Jennings, Jr. (Shelia), Donna Jennings Wilson (Jerome), Deanna Jennings Gilbreath (Joe), and daughter-in-law, Bobbi Jennings (Lewis), her ten grandchildren: Carrie Rogers (Stan), Jesse Clausen (Gigi), Ryan Jennings (Dana), Jillian Turner (Jason), Dustyn Jennings, Shelley Jennings, Whitney Wilson, Kelley Carroll (Ben), Bruce J. (B.J.) Murphy, Brooke Murphy Miller (Matisse); 21 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, brother, Odum Argin Hulsey, sister, Cynthia Harper (Randal) and a host of extended family. Preceding her in death was her husband of 63 years, Floyd H. Jennings, Sr., a son, Lewis D. Jennings, her parents, Odum and Willie Ballard Hulsey, and her sister, Shirley Wright. Mrs. Jennings was a lifelong resident of Piedmont, Alabama. Pallbearers will be grandsons. She loved her large family and always put them first. She will be remembered as a selfless wife and mother who always had a smile, even when times were tough. She had a quiet strength. She never complained and always looked to a better future. She loved cooking, yard work, crocheting, and most of all taking care of her family. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. She was a real-life superwoman, who listened more than she spoke, loved with every fiber of her being. She baked the best red velvet cake that couldn’t be duplicated. She was always selfless in action and put everyone’s needs above her own. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Venecia’s Foundation in Piedmont, AL or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The family would like to extend a special “Thank you” to Baylie, Hannah, and Enhabit Hospice Care for the love and care shown to our precious Mother.
