Emma Carol Weatherbee

A celebration of life service for Emma Carol Weatherbee, 17, of Piedmont will be Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Piedmont with Brother Mark Cooper, Brother Nick Kiker and Brother Carlos Farmer officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the church. Emma passed away Wednesday, April 01, 2026. She held a special place in all of her family’s hearts because she was named after her great-grandmother, Emma Lou Russell and her grandmother, Carol Weatherbee. She was a lifelong resident of Piedmont and was a senior at Piedmont High School. She was active in many of the clubs and organizations at school. Her favorite club was the Piedmont Centerstage Society. She loved drama class which helped her find her creative spark. She was a member of the FTA, FFA where she held office, SGA where she had been a member since 9th grade and also a member of HOSA. .Emma loved young children and loved working with them. She was accepted to West Georgia College. She wanted to become a teacher. Teachers, Candace Mobley and Jason Wright held a special place in her heart. Their patience, kindness and encouragement shaped her in to the beautiful girl she had become. She loved listening to music and spending time with her family and friends. Emma was survived by her mama, April Weatherbee; Deddy, Scott Weatherbee; brother, Eli Scott Weatherbee; maw maw, Irma Austin; Granny, Karen Helms (Keith) and “Maw Maw Kay Kay” Kay Doss Rainey; aunts, Missie ‘MeMe” Weatherbee and Paula Dickeson (Doug); uncles, Greg Weatherbee (Vicki) and Michael Durrence; cousins, Abbie Dickeson (Prater), Mayson Vaughn, Rylan Franklin, Mary Franklin, Zachery “Big Zach” Kiser, Anthony Kiser(Anna) Trent Dickeson, Hali Dickeson, Janice Franklin, Mitchell Franklin (Lesley), Elise Weatherbee, Chelsea Boger, Jake Boger and Alyssa Smith (Nic); and fur babies, Bennie, Dixie, Teddy and Sadie. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Larry Austin and Lane and Carol Weatherbee; great-grandmother, Emma Lou Russell; fur baby, Dolly; and several great uncles and aunts. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in memory of Emma to the Piedmont Centerstage Society, % Piedmont High School, 750 Thomas Bible Memorial Highway, Piedmont, AL 36272, or to the Piedmont Education Trust, PO Box 819, Piedmont, AL 36272. The family would like to give a special “thank you” to the First Baptist Church, Brother Michael Ingram and to the Piedmont High School facility for the kindness, compassion and love shown to all the family through this difficult time.
