Winifred Luckey, 92 years old, passed from this life on March 17, 2012, while at her son's home in Glades County, Florida. She was born in LaBelle, Florida on June 3, 1919. She is the oldest daughter of John and Carrie Townsend's thirteen children. She is predeceased by her husband, Hugh Russell Luckey and Linda Sadler (Robert). She is survived by children, Norma Smith (Huey), Jerry Luckey (Marty Kay, Duchess), Larry Luckey (Neva), Franklin Luckey (Rhonda); nineteen grand and many great-grandchildren, as well as, a host of friends and family. Funeral services will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home in Piedmont at 11 a.m on Saturday, March 24, 2012. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Winifred's life was dedicated to her family, friends, and service to Christ. She visited and prayed for the sick, fed the hungry, gave shelter and clothing to the needy. She supported a score of worthy organizations and took great consolation in the Bible passage which says: Show me your faith by your works. That she did.
