Stella M Cox Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Stella Mayrene Cox, 65, of Hopewell,Virginia passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022. She was born in Alabama to the late Hubert Chamblee and Nivazell Jones Chamblee. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Chamblee and his wife, Martha, and Ronald Chamblee. Stella enjoyed sewing, embroidery, baking and decorating cakes. Her greatest passion in life was her family. She especially enjoyed traveling to Alabama and spending time with her family there. Stella is loved and will be greatly missed. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 37 years, Stephen Cox; children, David Robinson (Marcy), Sue Toov (Doug), Kara Partin (Bubba), and Jason Cox (Dominique); grandchildren, Justin Holmgren, Amanda Reeb (Paul), and Korey Martin (Sadie), Kolby Partin and Courtlyn Partin; great-grandchildren, Paul Reeb and Silas Reeb; siblings, Leon Jones (Annette), Linda Maddox, and Tim Chamblee (Beverly); a niece who was like a daughter, Faith Chamblee; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; and two canine companions, Brodie and Mollie. Pallbearers will be Dwight Jones, Rayford Williams, Kevin Patterson, Stanley McFry, Dakota Karns, Jason Cain and Scott Maddox. Funeral service for Mrs. Cox will be Monday, June 13, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Home in Piedmont with the Rev. Sherry Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. High Baptist Church Cemetery in Albertville. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 -1:00 pm at the funeral home.
