Mr. Roy Michael Smith

Services for Roy Michael Smith, 58, of Borden Springs will be Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Steve Swafford, Gregory Smith and Pastor Rodney Ragsdale officiating. Burial will follow with military honors and masonic graveside rites at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Smith died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his wife Brenda Sadler Smith of Borden Springs; children, Gregory Smith and Eric Smith , both of Palm Bay, Florida, Dana Clay (Darryl) of Borden Springs and Greg Motes of Borden Springs; six grandchildren, Alayna Smith, Kaileigh Smith, Sean Smith, Jonathon Propes, Joshua Propes and Marley Propes; his parents, Lee Roy and Frankie Ann Smith of Gadsden; two sisters, Cindy Johnson (Mike) of McCalla and Renee Moon (Bobby) of Alabaster; and a special uncle, Rex Smith (Sharon) of Ragland. Pallbearers will be Steve Swafford, Lane Skelton, Marty Massey, Roger Morgan, David Segers and Mike Bradley. Honorary pallbearer will be Keith Hall. Mr. Smith was a resident of Borden Springs and was a member of the Caldwell Masonic Lodge F&AM in Heflin. He was a U.S.Navy veteran, was a compliance officer for Cleburne County, enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, spending time with his family and loved his job.
