Mary Evelyn Woods Boles

Services for Mary Evelyn Woods Boles, 90, will be Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Wade Acton and the Rev. Gary Black officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Boles passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Boles of Piedmont; four sisters, Edna Faulkner of Piedmont, Ellan Wheeler of Anniston, Emma Jo Roberts of Jacksonville and Eva Mae Woods of Rainbow City; one brother, Franklin Woods (Joyce) of Piedmont; sisters-in-law;, Jeanette Griffith and Walala Woods, both of Piedmont; brother-in-law, Raymond Boles (Brenda) of Albertville; chosen grandchildren, Jenna, Stirling, and Sloan Stephens, all of Birmingham and Michael Bohlen of Piedmont and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kevin Woods, Marcus Woods, John Wheeler, Harlan Roberts, Brian Faulkner and Kenneth Boles. Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Adcock, Michael Bohlen and Craig Stephens. Mrs. Boles was a resident of Piedmont and was a graduate of Spring Garden High School. She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was in the Roberts-Helen Little Sunday School Class. Mrs. Boles was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Earl Boles; parents, Percy and Essie Woods; six brothers, J.M., Marcus, Argulous, James, P.A. and Jack Woods.
