Mary Eva Locklear

Services for Mary Eva Locklear, 91, of Piedmont will be Sunday, July 07, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Mr. Keith Reedy officiating. Burial will follow Monday, July 08, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Crest Cemetery in Birmingham. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 3-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Locklear passed away Friday, July 05, 2013 at Piedmont Health Care Center. Survivors include two daughters, Reba Williams (Gene) of Piedmont and Teresa Franklin (Butch) of McCalla; seven grandchildren, Rodney Williams (Michelle), Shannon Ivey (Bruce), Kim Hooker (Dave), Mandy Pope (Phillip), Daniel Logan, Amanda Gant (Shane) and Brent Franklin (Danielle); twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Huey Reedy of Piedmont and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary and Maddie Hooker. Mrs. Locklear was a Cherokee County native and had lived in the Birmingham area for 48 years before returning to Piedmont nine years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont , a member of the Sunshine Club and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Mrs. Locklear was a retired beautician and loved flowers, crocheting, cooking and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. "Buck" Locklear; parents, Hugh and Sadie Reedy; and two sisters, Willie Grace Lowery and Betty Couch.
