Marion David Studdard Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral service for Marion David Studdard, 75, of Piedmont will be Monday, January 17, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Mr. Brandon Renfroe officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. Burial with military honors will be Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Cemetery with Mr. David Stafford officiating . Mr. Studdard passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at his home. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Pat Studdard; two children, Jamey Studdard and Sherry Ray (Brian); four sisters, Daisy Young, Martha Garmon (Tony), Eleanor Renfroe, and June Baine; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mr. Studdard was born and raised in Piedmont and had been a resident of Prattville for many years before returning home to Piedmont. He was a lifelong member of Piedmont Church of Christ where he was an active and dedicated member. He attended school at Faulkner University and Auburn University. Mr. Studdard was a teacher at several vocational schools in Alabama where he taught carpentry. During his time as a teacher, he continued to be a carpenter by trade in his spare time. He retired from Fort McClellan and spent a total of 27 years in the Alabama National Guard serving in Iraq, Kuwait, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic where he was in the 1151st Engineer Company. He enjoyed gardening, canning, and setting up at Collinsville Trade Day. He was a devoted Christian and a dedicated and loving husband, father, brother, and friend. Mr. Studdard was preceded in death by his parents, Plez and Eula Mae Studdard; and siblings, Helen Smith, Ludie Studdard, Frank Studdard, Jack Studdard, and Fred Studdard.
