Funeral service for John Thomas Roberts, 81, of Piedmont will be Thursday, April 07, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Nances Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sandra Sue Roberts of Piedmont; his children, John Thomas Roberts, Jr. (Brenda Kay) of Naples Florida; Susan Jane Adams (Wesley) of Piedmont and Tamara Jean Kenitz (Gregg Curtis) of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, J.R. Roberts (Ruth), Todd Albert Lukacs (Jennifer), Natasha Suzanne Lukacs (Austen Chaney), Lacey Jean Ayer (Thomas Joseph.), Kyle Robert Stoltzfus (Shannon), Kayla Sue Stoltzfus, Cheyenne Karina Lukacs, David Daniel Roberts, and Matthew Thomas Roberts (Victoria) and ; 13 great-grandchildren, Dylan Thomas Roberts, Tyler Paxton Lukacs, Savannah Mae Yoas, Jack Thomas Chaney, Oscar Hill Roberts, Brynlee Suzanne Chaney, Julianna Ruth Roberts, Sophia Lukacs, Tanner Jay Stauffer, Violet Sandra Stoltzfus, Lily Lukacs, Ivy Jane Tellup and Sadie Kathleen Ayer; two nephews, Randall Robin Roberts (Faye) of Piedmont and Rodney Keith Williams (Donna) of Ft. Myers, Florida; two great nieces, Kelly Renee Roberts and Michelle Roberts Craig ;one great nephew, Robin Randall Roberts (Gina); and special friends, Joe and Sarah Short and Ann Cain. Pallbearers will be Kyle Stoltzfus, Robin Roberts, John Ralph Roberts, David Daniel Roberts, Gregg Curtis Kenitz and Thomas Joseph Ayer. Mr. Roberts was a native of Piedmont and resided in Naples Florida for 33 years. He has been a resident of the Nances Creek community since 1993. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening and restoring old automobiles. He was a carpenter and could work any type of equipment.
