John Billy "Johnny" Coley Jr Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral service for John Billy “Johnny” Coley, Jr., 58, of Piedmont will be Friday, July 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Hayward Clark and Rev. Corey Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Coley passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Tujuana Coley of Piedmont; his father, Billy Coley (Martha) of Pell City; sister, Kathy Bowden (Aaron) of Ohatchee; eight nieces, Emory Blanchard (Bayley), Macy Reedy, Maggie Reedy, Bailey Burns, Emma Burns, Olivia Burns, Jamie Leigh Bowden and Jenna Bowden (Noah); one great-nephew, Colten Dover; one great-niece, Taylor Dover; his mother and father-in-law, Janet and Wade Sprouse of Piedmont; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Sabrina and Johnny Reedy of Piedmont, Billie Jo and Corey Burns of Chelsea and April and Chris Ivey of Spring Garden. Pallbearers will be Mark Harper, Brian Young, Tracy Stewart, Phillip Pope, Johnny Reedy, Josh Droxler, Aaron Bowden, Colten Dover, Chris Ivey, and Bayley Blanchard. Mr. Coley was a lifelong resident of Piedmont and was a 1982 graduate of Piedmont High School. He attended Wallace State Community College where he was the pitcher on the baseball team and was a graduate of Jacksonville State University. Johnny was employed at Anniston Army Depot for 34 years. He was a member of the Congregational Holiness Church where he worked as a Youth Director in his early years. He loved sports and the special talks he had with his Dad every day. He had a fun loving personality and enjoyed playing jokes on his family and friends, He was a loving husband and had a heart for helping others in need. Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Coley; and his grandparents, Charlie and Belle Coley and Gilford and Helen Christopher.
