Hugh Huey

Graveside service with military honors for Hugh Huey, 73, of Piedmont will be Monday, February 07, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Piedmont Memory Gardens with Dr. Charlie Parker officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. Mr. Huey passed away Tuesday, February 01, 2022 at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation Center. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Huey of Piedmont; son, Thomas Huey (Deandra) of Piedmont; granddaughter, Tara Simone Kellar; one sister, Thelma Atkins; two brothers, J.D. Huey and Jerry Huey (Maddie); and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Huey was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont, a U.S. Army Veteran, and was a member of the male chorus at Thankful Baptist Church. He retired from Bynum as a supervisor with 30 years of service and he enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and enjoyed hunting. Mr. Huey was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Jack Huey; and two brothers, David Huey and Johnny Ray Weaver
