Funeral service for Hoyt Livingston, 81, also known as HC, Bud, Uncle Bud and Red of Piedmont, will be Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with his long-time friend, Pastor Rick Blythe ,Pastor Mike Duman and his son-in-law, Pastor William "Bill" Franks officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Mr. Livingston passed away January 11, 2022 from a brief illness. He was born in Piedmont to Hoyt Charles (HC) Livingston, Sr and Mary Vida Livingston. He has gone to be with his beloved wife, Joyce. They were married for 52 years and raised 3 children, James (Jim) Reynolds, Ronnie Motes and Karry Livingston Franks. They have 12 Grandchildren and 25 Great grandchildren. He served our country for 23 years in the Army National Guard before retiring. He was an active member of Piedmont Seventh- day Adventist Church. He spent 50 years as a truck driver, until retiring at the age of 78. He and his Yorkie, Polly, were constant companions. He loved the Crimson Tide and Dallas Cowboys. If he wasn't in his garden, he was watching an old Western, ballgame or FOX News. The past 7 years he never missed a nightly call with his daughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; sisters Mickey Gable, Hazel Love, Barbara Cooper, and Grace Dobson; brothers, Edward Livingston, JT Livingston and Emmet Livingston. He is survived by his sisters, Sue Lane of Piedmont, Lynda Law of Piedmont, Margaret Westbrook of Huntsville Al, and Sally Donaldson of Anchorage Alaska; one brother, Clark Livingston; son, Jim Reynolds and wife Kelly of Piedmont, granddaughters, Ann, Joyce, Wendy, Renee, Rebecca, Carly, Maggie and Jaimee; son, Ronnie Motes and wife Rebecca(Becky)of Boaz, granddaughters, Candice and Caitlin; daughter, Karry and husband William(Bill) of Shreveport, Louisiana, grandchildren, Shannon and Ian; 25 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that loved their Uncle Bud. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Motes, Mitchell Bedwell, Michael Abraham, Jimmy Woodfin, David Hamilton and Maurice Stokely. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
