Mr. Homer Winford Rhinehart

February 13, 1919 - May 3, 2012

Funeral services for Mr. Homer Winford Rhinehart, 93, of Piedmont will be Monday, May 7, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Deborah Moon and the Rev. Lewis Conaway officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 12 - 2 p.m. Mr. Rhinehart passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at his home. Survivors include three sons, Georg John (Mariyan) of Vienna, Austria, David Rhinehart (Betty) of Leesburg and Donnie Rhinehart of Piedmont; a step-daughter, Paula Batey (Terry) of Piedmont; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; many great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Rhinehart Rutherford of Anniston, Edna Rhinehart Tierce (Marshall) of Cedartown, Ga and Juanita Rhinehart Wallace (Alvin) of Oxford; three brothers, Clyde Rhinehart (Pauline) and Fred Rhinehart (Ada) all of Rock Run and Sammy Rhinehart of Cedartown, Ga; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Bob Dehaven, Wes Neymen, Harland Lambert, Casey Lambert, Tommy Rhinehart and Larry Cronan. Mr. Rhinehart was born February 13, 1919 in Cherokee County. He had been a resident of Cherokee and Calhoun Counties all of his life. He was a U.S.Army WWII veteran, retired from SCT Yarn, was a member of Rock Run Baptist Church, a member of Mt. Signal Masonic Lodge, a member of the American Legion and enjoyed farming and retirement. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Tierce Rhinehart; his second wife, Margie Painter Rhinehart; and his third wife, Gertrude John Rhinehart; children, Douglas Winford Rhinehart and Carolyn Janelle Russell; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Lyles Rhinehart; four brothers and two sisters.
