Hazel L. Gunter

Funeral services for Hazel L. Gunter, 89, of Piedmont will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Gunter passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation Center. Survivors include a sister, Ruby Gresham and a nephew, David Harris both of Piedmont. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mrs. Gresham was a Piedmont resident most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont where she volunteered in the nursery, was a member of the Esther and Fidelis Sunday School class and was a member of the Sunshine Club. She retired from SCT Yarn with nearly 40 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Gunter, her parents, Abe and Arizona Logan, a sister, Annie Ruth Logan and a brother, Willis Harris. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the Piedmont Rescue Squad, P.O.Box 333, Piedmont, AL 36272.
