Funeral service for Emma Jo Roberts, 84, of Jacksonville will be Monday, February 21, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. A private burial will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Nances Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Roberts passed away Friday, February 18, 2022 at The Olive Home Assisted Living in Oneonta. Survivors include two sons, Harlan Roberts (Pam) and Joel Roberts (Melinda) all of Hollingsworth; two sisters, Ellan Wheeler of Iron City and Eva Mae Woods of Rainbow City; sister-in-law, Jean Brown; brother-in-law, Rick Roberts; five grandchildren, Justin Roberts (Donielle), Lee Roberts (Brandie), Josiah Roberts (Jessica), Nathan Roberts, and Emily Joy Roberts; two great grandchildren, Lizzie Roberts and Hannah Roberts; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Justin Roberts, Josiah Roberts, Lee Roberts, Nathan Roberts, Brian Faulkner, Brian Roberts and John Wheeler. Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews. Mrs. Roberts was a native of Cherokee County and was a resident of Calhoun County most of her life. She was a retired school teacher and was a member of Calhoun County Retired Teachers’ Association, A.E.A., N.E.A, and Nances Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Roberts; granddaughter, Lindsey Amber Roberts; seven brothers, J.M. Woods, Marcus Woods, Argulous Woods, James Woods, Percy Woods, Franklin Woods, and Jack Woods; and two sisters, Evelyn Boles and Edna Faulkner.
