Charles William Lockridge

Funeral services for Charles William Lockridge, 90, will be Thursday, August 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Ingram and the Rev. Brian McWilliams officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday two hours prior to services. Mr. Lockridge passed away Monday, August 06, 2012 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Margaret Lockridge; a daughter, Charlene Stephens (Bobby) of Piedmont; a grandson, Scott Stephens (Aimee) of Piedmont; one great grandson, Wade Stephens; one sister, Nobie Lockridge of Rock Run; a brother-in-law, Van Garmon of Texas and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mr. Lockridge was a native of Cherokee County and a resident of Piedmont most of his life. He was of the Methodist faith, was a retired farmer and a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lena Lockridge; two brothers, Horace Lockridge and David Lockridge and a sister, Nora Lockridge.
