Carlton Boyd Pody, 57, of Piedmont passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at his home. Carlton was a lifelong resident of Piedmont and had attended Piedmont High School.He worked as a sheet rock finisher and later worked as an auto body repairer at Gowens Body Shop. He could work on any type motor and could tell you what was wrong by just listening to it.Carlton enjoyed being outdoors and loved motorcycles. Survivors include his brother, Mike Pody (Melinda) of Piedmont; sister, Dawn Pody Hammett of Saks;caregiver and lifelong companion, Carmen Key; niece, Cara Hogue Cantrell (Brent); nephews, Corey Wallace and Andy Pody (Cassie); five great- nieces and nephews, Brianna Wallace, Brody Wallace, Brantly Cantrell, Rhett Pody and Caroline Pody; best friend, Michael Kirby (Becky); other special people in Carlton's life were Kayla Shell (Michael) and their children' Bentley and Korbin Shell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Carolyn Pody; sister, Cathy Pody and an infant brother. At Carlton's request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers , memorial contributions may be made to the Piedmont Rescue Squad, PO Box 333, Piedmont, AL 36272.
