Benny Bangs

Benny Bangs, age 79, passed away at Redmond Regional Medical Center February 14, 2021 surrounded by family. Benny was a private in the United States Army, working in communications. Known by many as a local t.v. repairman, Benny worked for Fenley T.V. and Antenna Sales Services in Cedartown, GA and Sight and Sound in Anniston, AL. After retirement, Benny enjoyed time with family and friends. As a licensed HAM Radio Operator, Benny made new friends from all over the world. Benny is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Naomi Lee Bangs; a brother, Harold Bangs; and a sister, Mary McGatha. He is survived by a son, Randall (Amanda) Bangs of Piedmont; a daughter, Naomi (Brian) Caussey of Coldwater; a sister-in-law, Mildred Bangs of Piedmont; grandchildren, Brianna (Brennan) Jones, Sarah (Jonathan) Chastain, Gracie Bangs, Randa Bangs, Tyler Rollins, Amber (Jerry) Kee, J.C. Rollins, and Courtney Caussey; and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tyler Rollins, J.C. Rollins, Brennan Jones, Jonathan Chastain, Jerry Kee, Cale Morrison, and Levi Wood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Benny’s HAM Radio Family. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Ingram officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until time of service.
